New Product The Ezi-Quena was inspired by the traditional Andean end-blown flutes widely known throughout South America. The traditional quena can be frustrating to learn, because of the difficulty of blowing the end notch accurately and consistently. Hence the Ezi-Quena! It is cross between a quena and a penny whistle. It has a thumb hole like a quena, which helps to get the higher notes more in tune and to get a few notes out of the third octave.

The Ezi-Quena is in the correct key of G major (G = 392Hz) and has an easily playable range of two octaves. The fingerings for notes of the third octave are included in the instruction sheet, but I do not guarantee you will be able to play all them. You can hear a demo of the Ezi-Quena on SoundCloud here: https://soundcloud.com/john-poletti/takahe-flutes-ezi-quena-demo-el-condor-pasa

NB: an Ezi-Quenacho in D is under development and will be available soon!!
